Who we are

Traumality is the Data Controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are bound by the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@traumality.com.

What we collect

Account details: your name, display name, email address and password (stored securely, we never see it).

Purchases: your email, country and what you bought. Card payments are handled by Stripe, so we never receive or store your card details.

Community activity: posts, comments, messages and profile information you choose to share.

Film study: if you take part, your unique code, demographic answers, ratings and written responses. If you consent to a follow-up, your email address.

Usage: basic information such as pages visited and the country you are browsing from, used to keep the site running and improve it.

Why we use it

To provide what you asked for: delivering your film rental, account, community access and receipts (contract).

To evaluate and improve our services, including the film study (legitimate interest).

To send you emails about the film or offers where you have given your email to us, with an unsubscribe link in every message (legitimate interest or consent).

To keep the platform and community safe, and to meet legal and tax obligations.

The film study

Taking part is voluntary and you can stop at any time by closing the survey. Your answers are linked by the unique code you create, not your name.

We aim to share fully anonymous study data with an academic institution for independent analysis. You will not be identifiable from your responses in any reports or articles.

If you consent to a follow-up survey, we keep your email address only for that purpose and delete it within 1 year.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services that help us run Traumality, such as payment processing (Stripe), video delivery (Vimeo), website hosting and email delivery, and only as needed for them to do so.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active and removed when you ask us to delete it. Purchase records are kept as long as the law requires for tax and accounting. Study follow-up emails are deleted within 1 year.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time. Email info@traumality.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
