A free community platform for people working towards trauma-informed change

The people asking schools to respond differently to children, healthcare services to look beyond symptoms, and communities to understand what trauma does to people need a place to come together. TRAUMALITY has built that place.
It is a free trauma-informed community platform: a shared space to meet others, exchange ideas and resources, and organise around the things people want to change.
People are doing this work in many different settings. NHS staff, teachers, therapists, people with lived experience and people bringing local communities together. There is an enormous amount of knowledge and commitment, but it is spread across different conversations and places. The platform creates somewhere those conversations can meet.

What you can do there
- Meet others — browse member profiles, make connections and find people working on similar things.
- Join the conversation — share posts, ask questions, take part in discussions and write your own blog.
- Find and recommend resources — explore books, services and tools, and recommend the ones that have helped.
- Start or join a space — gather people around a location, profession or cause and give them tools to organise and learn.
- Organise together — run events, create courses and share files with the people you gather.
A space is one of the most useful parts of the community. It is a focused space for people connected by a place, a profession or something they want to change. That could be a Trauma-informed NHS group where staff share what they are putting into practice. It could be a Brighton group organising local events. It could be educators discussing how schools respond to children, sharing resources and planning what to do differently.
Each space becomes whatever its members need it to be. Members can post announcements, start discussions, run events, build courses, share files and keep a resource library. The creator decides whether it is public or private and who can join, so a space can be as open or as protected as the community inside it needs.
You do not have to create one to take part. You might come to find a resource, read someone’s experience, make a connection or join a conversation that matters to you.
TRAUMALITY was never just about making a film. The film connects the dots between our experiences, mental health and the systems around us. The real question is what people do once they see those connections. What can we learn from each other? Who can we work with? How do we bring that understanding into the places where we live and work?
The platform is one way to make that possible — a community first, with Spaces where smaller groups can gather and do the work.
Come in while it’s taking shape
The platform is open in beta and free to join. Everything there is ready to use, and it will keep growing as people shape it.
If there is a resource the community should know about, recommend it. If an organisation or local area could use a space, create one. And if something would make the platform more useful, say so — the people using this space will shape what it becomes.
The film opened up a conversation. This gives us somewhere to carry it forward together.
